CITY NEWS – April 2013

Welcome to the April 2013 edition of CITY NEWS!

Well, we have an exciting few months ahead of us here at Park City.  Thursday 25th April will see our Business Growth partner event taking place at Stock Brook Manor, Stock – an opportunity for guests to glean useful hints and tips from our guest speaker, Steve Clarke – one of the country’s leading experts on grassroots sales and marketing strategies – followed by an exclusive networking opportunity with like-minded business owners and directors from around the region.

We will also be co-hosting an exclusive evening event at the historical Layer Marney Tower on Wednesday 9th May that will be of particular interest to those family businesses out there, like ours.  Nicholas Charrington, the current owner of this stunning venue, will provide a brief history of the Tower from its links with Tudor England to its recent hosting of the Antiques Roadshow.  And we are proud to boast that we will be joined by none other than Hugo Fenwick, of the world-renowned Fenwick Department Store chain, to talk to us about his thoughts on family businesses and the company’s recently approved plans for a £30 million investment into Colchester’s very own William and Griffin store.

As we’ve now officially entered British Summer Time, we can but hope that we have finally put the cold winter weather behind us – although it doesn’t much feel like it at the moment!  Let’s hope April will bring sunnier – and hopefully warmer – weather, without too many of those much-sung-about ‘April showers’…!

We must be mindful that for many Facebook is an accepted forum for frank discussion with not just friends, but friends of friends, and derogatory statements about the employer can potentially bring the Company into disrepute. [Read more]
