Here we go!
Here we go, the greatest event to be hosted by London since the Royal Wedding! Although I am not able to actually state here what I am referring to for fear of a lawsuit, but let’s not allow this to spoil what will be a fantastic spectacle of sporting achievement and endeavour. We would do well to remember the words of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic games;
“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.”
Many parallels are drawn between sport and business, in fact many retired sports stars go on to develop successful careers lecturing and coaching business leaders on success, motivation and focused strategy but I am sure you will agree that some of these ideals do not sit well in today’s business environment.
Your businesses are here to succeed and triumph, to grow and prosper, we as business owners and directors don’t want to struggle and fight well, only to falter and stall and we do want to conquer in every way, in order to survive and provide the legacy for future generations or for the future business owners, who can in turn continue to offer the security and prosperity to others.
And yes, I used the word legacy! There will, no doubt, be countless official government reports about the legacy of the Olympics in London, but it is business legacy that is as important as social legacy and I hope that your business is able to leverage the games for the short and long term benefits it could offer.
Park City is always here to assist you and your business in any way we can; we are part of your team and share your hopes and aspirations for your business. We have recently added new content to our website, which includes the ability to book and pay online for our training courses. We now also offer online Health and Safety solutions for basic awareness training, thus allowing you to train all your staff more easily. You will also receive over the coming months, further updates as to our new services designed to add further value and release your time.
I hope you enjoy everything the Olympics has to offer and if you are ‘getting away from it’ for a few weeks, enjoy your vacation.
