Park City Consulting are proud to announce we have teamed up with the Health and Safety Executive, Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service to deliver the HSE’s Estates Excellence project to over 400 employers in and around the Ransomes Europark area of Ipswich.
Estates Excellence is a free initiative aimed at local businesses. It offers small to medium sized businesses the tools to improve workplace health and safety with FREE training courses tailored to meet the needs of business.
Workplace injuries and work-related ill health in Suffolk are costing companies £49 million a year. So, managing health and safety issues is vital. There is a lot of information available, but it can be difficult for owners to identify what is relevant for their particular business.
It is not about inspection or enforcement but about providing clear information, on-site training and practical help to improve the health and safety of workers.
The project will save businesses time and money by cutting down the risk of accidents in the workplace, down time and time off work for employees, all of which will help increase productivity
What are we offering?
Free support for small businesses on your industrial estate
Free training and advice to help you look after, and improve the health and safety of your workers
Phase 1
A member of the Estates Excellence team will visit business premises to explain the project in detail and offer employers a free audit visit to identify areas in which their business could do with help.
Phase 2
Free site audits. These will take place at a time to suit and will look at issues such as fire prevention and health and safety within the business.
Phase 3
After the audit visit, employers and their employees will be invited to attend free training events based around the needs highlighted in the audit. These will all be short sessions held nearby and employers can choose which topics you wish to take up.
Free occupational health testing taster sessions will be offered to those businesses that have workers affected by dermatitis, respiratory conditions, hand arm vibration or noise issues.
What are the benefits?
Businesses don’t have to take part, however the advice offered from partnership organisations is free and therefore an opportunity too good to miss.
It’s free and the training will enable employers to minimise workplace absence, improve productivity and allow for a sustainable business.
The event is running from January to March 2015
