As an employer, you must provide adequate and appropriate first-aid equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure your employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. Whilst you may already have an appointed first aider, are you aware of the latest changes governing the administration of first aid?
For example, in October 2015, the Resuscitation Council UK released its review of resuscitation guidelines. As training providers, we are obligated to ensure that, by the end of 2016, our training is in accordance with these new standards. Of course, we’re not going to wait until the end of the year to get ourselves up to speed, and we are pleased to confirm that Park City is compliant with these, and all other legal requirements.
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has now also agreed that specific elements of first aid training can now be delivered by online training, which we are pleased to be able to offer. There are still certain elements of the training that require “administering of first aid” and therefore must be classroom based, but by taking the online option, your employees, or responsible first aider, can quickly and conveniently refresh their first aid knowledge.
Whilst this doesn’t mean that you need to immediately retrain your existing first aiders, you should consider refreshing the skills of your first aiders anyway, so why not take advantage of the comprehensive, fully compliant first aid training we offer. Our courses and training materials contain the most up-to-date information for all aspects of first aid, including the latest changes to the resuscitation guidelines. Contact us for more details of our “Emergency First Aid” and “First Aid at Work” training courses, or for any other Health & Safety training and guidance.
