Guidance on Social Distancing in the Construction Industry

The UK government has announced guidance on social distancing for the construction industry to assist operational construction sites in keeping workers safe during the coronavirus crisis.

The guidance for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to the construction industry from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, was issued as a letter, which can be found here:  Coronavirus (COVID-19): letter to the construction sector

Please pay particular attention to paragraph Four which refers to Site Operating Procedures (SOP), which were published by the Construction Leadership Council, and should assist you in satisfying your duty of care.  You can read and download the Site Operating Procedures (SOP) Version 1 here.

NOTE

THERE HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANT FEEDBACK ON THE UPDATED SITE OPERATING PROCEDURES VERSION 2.  WHILST THE FEEDBACK IS REVIEWED THE CLC HAS RE-ISSUED VERSION 1 WHICH IS THE DOCUMENT THE INDUSTRY SHOULD BE COMPLYING WITH.
