The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recently released a statement via LinkedIn, reminding Employers that the COVID pandemic is not over yet.
With infection rates and deaths between 4 and 5 times the levels of this time last year, it is vital that employers head the HSE warning and prepare for continued visits from the enforcer and their agents.
The HSE statement makes clear that they are still going to be carrying out proactive spot checks and inspections on businesses to check they are continuing to work safely and are actively managing the continuing risk from COVID within their workplaces and work operations.
Be Prepared
With the above in mind, it is vital that all employers, regardless of size and business activities review their existing risk assessments against current HSE and government guidance available here. From this, employers must ensure that they put appropriate measures in place to protect their employees and others from the real risk of covid transmission within the workplace and while undertaking work activities.
