With the News dominated by Education, A levels U-turns and upcoming GCSEs, it would be easy to miss the updates for COVID -19  related issues in the UK.

You may have read in the media the latest track and trace outbreaks in businesses in the UK, where in some cases upwards of 200 needed to be tested due to a cluster of positive cases within the workforce, this will be a continuing feature of business risk for the foreseeable future and only underlines the need for following the guidelines for safe working and where appropriate rotating your staff to minimise whole staff contact, call us if you are in any doubt. Visit our website to obtain a Guide for creating a covid-19 secure workplace.

In addition, job losses announced in the retail sector is on the increase and it is a barometer that indicates what is happening across the UK within many SMEs. As the job retention scheme runs down, many business owners will be faced with making decisions based on short-term requirements to balance sales, cash flow and costs, with some or many needing to reduce staff costs.

Park City’s HR teams are managing projects for clients across many sectors, so you are not alone if you need to reduce staff costs,  call us if you need assistance in either managing a full programme of redundancies or just advising on the steps and legal requirements for you to follow.
