Course Overview
With approximately 13 million women in the UK experiencing perimenopause or menopause, and women in their 40s and 50s forming the fastest growing workforce demographic, organisations are increasingly recognising the need for supportive and inclusive environments. Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, although symptoms can begin earlier and last for several years. Symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, poor sleep, and hot flushes can significantly impact performance, confidence, and attendance. Research shows that 1 in 10 women leave their jobs due to symptoms, with many more taking time off or experiencing reduced productivity.
While there is no standalone menopause legislation, employers have clear responsibilities under laws such as the Equality Act 2010, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and the Employment Rights Act 2025. From April 2026, Menopause Action Plans are being introduced, becoming mandatory from 2027 for larger organisations, marking a shift towards a more proactive approach.
